Steve Sarette & Son Excavation was established in 2001. Being the only boy in the family, I began working alongside my father at a very young age. My father taught me many important life lessons that are the cornerstone of my excavation business today. I learned the value of dedication, discipline, integrity, and responsibility. These are values that I have passed on to my children and I hope to pass along to my grandchildren. 

Family is very important, and I couldn’t imagine life without mine. My wife, Melanie and I have been married for 33 years. We have two amazing children. Our daughter, Mandy (32), is married and has recently given birth to a daughter, Kennedy (1 month), our second grandchild. Our son, Michael (30), is engaged, and he and his fiance are the proud parents of our grandson Brayden (2). We are proud of them and their accomplishments. Mandy, after graduating high school, worked in the family business driving a dump truck while attending college. She continued on and pursued a career in the medical field. Michael has worked alongside me in the family business since graduating high school and plans to continue on as the third generation. 

So how did I get to where I am today? Not without my family. The Sarette family has been in the excavation business for over 50 years. In the early 1970s, my father started his own excavation and trucking company out of Goffstown, New Hampshire. I learned a lot from my father, having spent many hours operating equipment, driving a dump truck, and or turning a wrench to fix one.

In 2001 I formed my own company and named it “Steve Sarette & Son Excavation.” I wasn’t sure at the time that my son would follow in my footsteps as he was only 8 years old at the time, but I hoped that he would continue on. The Sarette family is in the third generation, and possibly the fourth generation, now that I have a grandson. My son Michael is operating equipment, driving trucks, and learning the business for the next generation. My wife Melanie has been by my side wearing many hats from managing the office to loading trucks and driving a dump truck on occasion. We truly are a family business and do whatever it takes to serve our customers.

 

We have a core group of dedicated employees at Steve Sarette & Son Excavation that have been with the company for years. Michael, Tim, and John are an extended part of our family and care for this business as much as we do. This is a tremendous advantage for our clients – who have come to expect a high standard of quality that the Sarette family has delivered for more than 50 years.
