Your Health is our Priority: Bringing Back the “Care” in Healthcare
PriorityDirectMED utilizes a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model to improve patient access to primary care and urgent care. The founder, Lisa Berge, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a Doctor of Philosophy in Natural Health. Dr. Berge understands the challenges of inflated healthcare costs, long wait times, and surprise billing. PriorityDirectMED offers a solution by providing transparent pricing, extended appointment times, and a focus on preventative care. Patients can avoid paying high co-pays and long wait times at urgent care and emergency rooms by receiving both primary and urgent care services.
As DPC providers, we do not have the extra hassle of preparing and filing insurance paperwork. This allows us to have more in-depth visits and spend more time with our patients. We treat fewer patients than practices that accept insurance. We can take time to get to know our patient’s health history in detail, which creates an atmosphere conducive to more personalized care. In traditional primary care medical practices, approximately sixty percent of patients wait at least two weeks for their appointment, and only ten percent can see their provider the same day. By limiting our patient panel and streamlining administrative tasks, we can deliver higher-quality, more personalized care. The contrast is drawn between the typical provider's large panel (1500-2000 patients) and short visit times (15 minutes) and PriorityDirectMED's smaller panel (500 patients) with longer visits, allowing for more focused attention on the patient’s health.
We offer upfront and transparent pricing. With a typical health insurance plan, you have little knowledge of exactly what your insurance will cover and what your out-of-pocket responsibility will be. Our patients avoid surprise billing and know the exact monthly cost of membership for basic care and specific additional fees for enhanced services. We offer accessibility and convenience with same-day and next-day visits, appointments lasting 30 to 60 minutes, telehealth options, phone calls, emails, and texts. We maintain strict HIPAA Compliance while providing you direct access to your provider.
Currently, we are offering a hybrid DPC model. We are accepting patients with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. By limiting the number of insurance carriers, we can reduce our patient panel by 75% compared to traditional practices. This means we are always accessible with appointments that not only start on time but last longer. As a PriorityDirectMED member, you build a meaningful relationship with your provider.
In addition to primary care and urgent care services, we also offer weight loss, pre-employment physicals, sports physicals, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals for our members and a discounted rate for these services for non-members.
As a Bedford resident since 1980, I am excited to be a DPC provider in the Bedford community. I am a second-generation Bedford business owner, as my parents started their own Custom Home Building Business, Manor Homes, in 1984. Just as they were enthusiastic about building beautiful dream homes for their clients, I am enthusiastic about building long-lasting relationships with my patients, as provider/patient relationships used to be. Our focus at PriorityDirectMED is to not only provide personalized healthcare to the Bedford Community but also collaborate with top physician specialists in the community so our patients can receive top medical care when they need it most.
