My family moved to Bedford in 1989 from Madison, CT. The move was tough; I was sad to leave my friends and school in Madison. My saving grace was having two sisters close in age to play with; I also have a brother, but he was off to college. My sisters and I spent a ton of time together that summer, exploring the neighborhood and making new friends. I attended Memorial, McKelvie, and West High School. I loved West High! There is something to be said about meeting new people with different backgrounds; I learned a lot about people and myself.
I have four fantastic kids: Anthony (21), Whitney (11), Blakely, and Teddy (both 9). Anthony is off pursuing a career as a Master Carpenter, Whitney is in fifth grade at McKelvie and the twins are in third grade at RBS. I have an awesome husband, Steve. He takes amazing care of all of us, and he works very hard at his day job for AthenaHealth.
I spent 13 years working at Merrill Lynch in Boston. I enjoyed my time there but knew I wanted to work closer to home and try something on my own. A close friend of Steve’s, who is also an Allstate Agency Owner, mentioned all the wonderful opportunities at Allstate and what an amazing journey he has had, and that he knew of an agency for sale. For me, Allstate was a perfect fit. I am able to work closely with clients, help people, and protect the communities in NH! I opened the doors of The Brooks Agency 3 years ago on November 1, 2019. It was the best, hardest, and one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. The stars aligned and all the obstacles that stood between me and my dream were conquered with ease. It was a huge leap of faith in myself. I knew if I didn’t make a move I would regret it for the rest of my life.
We are intensely client-focused and our company’s vision and mission statement are client satisfaction driven. We aim for white glove superior service for all. We always go above and beyond while providing clients with holistic and comprehensive insurance solutions for their needs. We do a ton of insurance reviews too. It's how we ensure our clients have exactly the coverage they need. My whole team loves insurance and loves helping people. They are the secret ingredient here. I am not kidding; one team member is brought to tears every time she talks about why she does what she does. It’s very touching. I am so lucky; how many people out there are so moved and feel so strongly about what they do? I often get asked, "What are some of the biggest mistakes people make with insurance?" Besides being underinsured, I am amazed at how many people have their homes in a trust but fail to name the trust in their homeowner's policy.
The Brooks Agency also loves to give back. As an agency, we are always looking to support our community. We have been involved with and supported many local organizations, including the Manchester Boys and Girls Club, YWCA, Elliot Hospital, MyTurn, and the NH Food Bank, to name a few. I currently volunteer on the board for the Bedford Lacrosse Organization and am on the board of the Legacy Trust for Southern NH Health.
