Bad Brgr

Residents came out for a night of great food and engaging discussion.

Our committee assessing the food

A dozen residents braved a frigid February night and joined Greet for what was promised as a restaurant review but morphed into so much more. Bad Brgr on Elm St. in Manchester was our host, serving up some enticing burgers, fries, and more for the group to try.

We started with the Bad Fries, which come loaded with heavenly goodness.  Topped with Chili, cheese, bacon, and more, they were a perfect excuse to get messy and use one's fingers.  The group then moved on to a selection of different burgers.  While all were described as excellent, a truly unique one stood out in the reviews.  The Beach Burger has cheese, mayo, and a cucumber summer salad and was easily the most favored in the group's notes.  Heather D. wrote, " The flavor was outstanding.  The cucumber and watermelon were a burst of fresh flavor."  The Bad Burger was described as having " The perfect proportions of Juicy, Crunchy, Savory, and Salty.  Several residents fell hard for the Milk Slush, which can be served virgin or with a shot of alcohol of your choosing.

As the conversation drifted from food, "I'm so full, but will someone pass me another piece of the Beach Burger?" to community, volunteering, and the many needs in New Hampshire.  We learned about being a child advocate for CASA NH as one reviewer recounted the emotional highs and lows of being a volunteer and that so many more advocates are needed(visit casanh.org/ to learn more). As the group discussed the unmet needs in Manchester, Ed Baroody brought up sending his food truck to Wilson Elementary to offer free meals to the students; "These kids take a free hot dog and act like we just gave them a car.  They can't believe it."  Little things matter.

Ultimately, it was a great night out.  Friends were made, belts were loosened, and a good time was had by all.
