Moin Orthodontics

It’s never too late to obtain the smile you’ve always wanted

The Moin Team

Everyone deserves a beautiful smile. That is the core belief at Moin Orthodontics, where I have been practicing orthodontics for 13 years.  It is a fantastic profession where I can transform people’s smiles into ones they are proud to display.  I also feel incredibly fortunate to be able to carry on my father’s legacy.  My father, Kambiz Moin, began practicing orthodontics in the Manchester/Bedford area in 1990.  He developed a reputation for excellent clinical results and for treating his patients like family.  I am proud to continue building that reputation alongside several team members who have been part of our practice for decades.  I love it when my father’s former patients bring their children to me.  It is truly rewarding to create beautiful and healthy smiles, and I feel fortunate to have a job that allows me to do something I love.

My father was known for being on the cutting edge of technology.  I still have copies of an article in the Union Leader from 2007 recognizing my father’s practice for being completely paperless at a time when that was rare.  Similarly, I have adopted many technological advances in my practice.  We have been using a digital scanner instead of goopy impressions for over 10 years.  We have a CBCT machine that generates 3D radiographs with better detail and diagnostic capabilities. We were one of the first in the state to incorporate Dental Monitoring, which allows us to virtually monitor our Invisalign patients, thereby increasing the predictability of results while reducing the number of appointments. We use a 3D printer to print models for our retainers.  We are also starting to utilize digital processes, such as LightForce, for treatment planning and bonding of braces.

I take pride in being an active business member of our community.  We sponsor numerous sports teams, school programs, and community events.  I grew up in Manchester, attended Manchester Central High School, and feel privileged to be able to give back to the community in which I was raised.  After high school, I attended Wellesley College, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and then the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine’s orthodontic residency program.  I met my husband, Brandon Beaudoin, at the University of Connecticut.  He is a native New Englander and was excited to move to Bedford to establish his dental practice.  We love the sense of community Bedford offers and are thrilled to be raising our two daughters here - Soraya (8) and Niloo (5).

The most common question I am asked is, ' What age should children start seeing an orthodontist?'  The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic exam at the age of 7.  At this age, the first molars and some of the adult front teeth have erupted, allowing us to identify some occlusion problems early.  Many orthodontic issues can be addressed once all the adult teeth have erupted, but some issues should be addressed early to minimize future complications.   Early treatment may include expanders, partial braces, Invisalign, or active retainers.  When early treatment is recommended, the goal is typically limited to addressing a specific issue, and a second phase of comprehensive treatment may still be necessary once all the permanent teeth have erupted, around the age of 12.  The comprehensive phase completes the tooth and jaw alignment that was started with the preventive or interceptive treatment.  We also have many adult patients – it’s never too late to obtain the smile you’ve always wanted!  Consultations are always complimentary at our practice.
