February is American Heart Month—I am pleased to share some exciting news from The Elliot about the cardiovascular care services we offer to patients.

Heart and vascular care are vital services that many in our community need to manage chronic problems, receive diagnosis for treatment, and for more acute health issues that require immediate intervention. At The Elliot, we continue to expand our team and options for care to ensure the community has access to comprehensive cardiac care.

I am thrilled to share that we plan to offer open heart surgery at Elliot Hospital to patients starting in January 2026 through our newly named service, Elliot Heart and Vascular Center. The transformative step forward of adding surgery expands upon the existing expertise of our cardiovascular team, which provides patients with the latest technology and care, including advanced cardiac imaging, advanced heart failure treatment, interventional cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, electrophysiology, nuclear cardiology, and cardio-oncology.

As Manchester’s most comprehensive nonprofit health system, we are laser-focused on delivering on our mission to best care for our community. To fulfill this promise, we continue to evolve with the hard work and dedication of our staff and providers—expanding our services to ensure every individual receives the care they deserve. By adding heart surgery to our existing expertise through the Elliot Heart and Vascular Center, we will offer patients a fully complete range of cardiac care services with outstanding surgeons and providers who are proven and have served the greater Manchester community for decades.

The Elliot Heart and Vascular Center team has grown throughout 2024 with additional Board-certified cardiologists. In Fall 2025, a new, dedicated location will open on the Elliot Hospital campus for cardiovascular services to best serve patients.
