Driving Toward a Cure

Athletes, celebrities, and supporters tee up to help change the future for those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

CdM residents Paul and Debra Miller (left) founded the CureDuchenne nonprofit organization in 2003 after their son, Hawken (center), was diagnosed with Duchenne. Troy and Danielle Terry (right) now host the Golf Shootout.

Returning for the 15th year, the CureDuchenne Golf Shootout is back September 11 - 12, 2026 at the Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, CA.

Started by NHL All-Star Ryan Getzlaf and his wife Paige, and now hosted by Troy Terry of the Anaheim Ducks and his wife Danielle, the Golf Shootout brings together professional athletes, celebrities, and community leaders for a two-day event benefiting CureDuchenne. The event features an MVP Dinner reception on Friday evening, followed by an action-packed day of activities and golf on Saturday. To date, the Shootout has raised over $6.80M to fund research and bring new therapies for individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The golf tournament will include appearances by Anaheim Ducks Power Players, on-course games, gourmet food, and hole-in-one opportunities to win luxury prizes. For event details, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities, please visit: cureduchennegolfshootout.org.
