Meet Chip! Our One-Brain-Cell Golden with a Heart of Gold

We’ve lived in Cross Creek Ranch for 3 years and absolutely love the community, family-oriented neighborhood, the safety, and all the parks.
Chip is a 3-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever. He has maybe one brain cell. English Cream Goldens are known for their light coats and friendly personalities, and Chip definitely lives up to the friendly part — with a lot of extra goofiness mixed in.

We got Chip after my childhood dog passed away. He couldn’t be more opposite than her. He is wild, goofy, happy-go-lucky, and the list goes on.
I’ve always loved the name Chip and had it picked out for about 10 years, so when we got him, the name was already decided.

Chip is very talented at eating lots of food he shouldn’t. Recently he ate 20 tortillas in a span of a minute — shoutout WellPet Vet!

Besides the resident lonely brain cell being a top-tier talent, Chip was supposed to be a service dog. He quickly failed that training but retained one important skill: he will hold anyone and everyone’s hand.
Chip absolutely loves tennis balls. That’s his favorite toy and the fastest way to get his full attention.

Our favorite memory with Chip was when we brought our son home from the hospital after he was born. Chip was panicking trying to find a way to hold his hand — his very special talent. He couldn’t find our son’s hands, so he very gently and sweetly held his foot instead.

Chip loves to hang out at Dogtopia Fulshear-Katy. His cousins, Dixie and Daisy, also live in the neighborhood, although we aren’t sure if Chip is aware that they are not his biggest fans. His best friend is Oakley, whom he met at Dogtopia.

Dogtopia Fulshear-Katy is absolutely amazing. Chip plays all day long and comes home worn out. It’s great for his high energy.
If Chip could choose any adventure, it would be a lake trip. He loves water, and that would be his ideal day.
