From the Mayor's Desk

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Annual Alexandria Turkey Trot. What began as a local run has grown into a powerful symbol of community pride that attracts thousands of residents and visitors. I am not a runner — that is a title I will leave for the previous mayor. However, some of my favorite memories are pushing my children, Eliana and Ezekiel, in their wagon with the other parents in the stroller division.

Staring at their wide smiles, blankets tucked around their little legs, and Just Fine donuts always reminds me how lucky we are to live in a safe, welcoming community where friends and strangers can unite in shared purpose.

In a world often marked by chaos, the Turkey Trot offers a moment of togetherness. The Turkey Trot isn’t just a race—it’s a celebration of what connects us all. See you at the starting line.
