A-Haunting We Shall Go!
Felix at the 2023 haunt.
You might know me from my snow cone business or gumball machine. But in fall, I do something different, turning my yard into a Halloween Haunt.
I’ve always had a bunch of interests, like coding, music, improv, and horror, but nothing where I could do them all at once. A couple years ago, YouTube recommended a haunted house tour video. It combined so many things I already had fun doing. That’s when I decided to make my own haunt.
My first one was a small, one-night event on our driveway. After attending the East Coast Haunters Convention, I added lights, fog, motion sensors, decorations, effects, and live scare actors.
One of my favorite things about creating the haunt is taking an ordinary space and figuring out how to transform it, then watching people experience it. This year, the Haunt will be a fully themed walkthrough called Pine View Asylum. It’ll feature a 4D experience, new effects, and (hopefully) a few things you won’t expect (good scare psychology)!
Will you dare join us? (We’ll be open October 23, 24, 25, and 30 from 7–8 PM.)
