Working at Charming Pet Rescue allows Sam Lopez to meet many different animals every day, and fortunately, she has been able to see them all go to good adoptive homes. Until Twig, that is. She met Twig when he was returned to the rescue for being “mean to his adopted siblings”, and she fell in love with him on sight. He truly was snippy and rude to the other dogs at the rescue, so she thought she’d take him home and see if he would decompress and become nicer to others. They have been true buds since that day and never would Sam think of parting with him. Twig is part Italian Greyhound and part Chihuahua, so he has super soft fur, is a small compact pup and super-fast on his feet.

Almost a year later, a group of small Chihuahua mixes came into the rescue and one of them jumped on Sam’s leg and started to literally climb up her leg to meet her. After that, each time he would see Sam he would jump higher up on her leg to get into her arms. Being such a cute, sweet little pup, Sam could not believe he was still available for adoption every day she went to work. Then one day he jumped all the way into her arms and Sam knew he was hers! 

Twig might not have liked most other dogs, but when he met Chupacabra (Chupy), they became immediate friends. Both Twig and Chupy love to go wherever Sam goes, they love rides in the car, going to the local parks and hiking with her. Chupy does have one serious requirement; he can NOT be anywhere, at any time, without his Lamp Chop stuffy! At night the boys get on each side of Sam and burrow way down under the covers to sleep right against her. These two pups are bonded together and with Sam; they are both happy, playful, and loving pups that Sam feels incredibly lucky to have.
