When driving through the city of Fair Oaks Ranch in the summer, you may see lots of teenage boys mowing lawns, power washing or even washing cars. These are average summer jobs that keep kids busy and help them start learning how employment works. However, have you ever heard of teenage boys detailing cars? I know I hadn’t until I heard about RG Triple Clean. 

This business is run by two sophomores, Rene Gallegos (resident of Fair Oaks Ranch) and his friend, Josh Gage. Initially inspired by social media, they began brainstorming during last spring break for ways to make money over the summer. Fast forward to the present, and they have successfully run their detailing business for over 4 months. RG Triple Clean has transformed from an average summer side-hustle to hopes of expanding the business to possibly include window washing and power washing! 

When Rene is not busy with track or photography, and when Josh takes a break from football practice, these boys answer client calls. Their customers are primarily located in the Boerne-Fair Oaks region, but they are willing to drive up to 30 minutes for a job. In the early days of their operation, clients mostly heard about RG Triple Clean by word of mouth. Now, the business has launched on Instagram, allowing many more people to hear about the amazing work Rene and Josh do! 

Their initial motive to start the business was to make money over the summer; however, Rene and Josh believe the business is thriving and has not leveled off. This is due in large part to the enjoyment they find in car detailing. These guys are best friends, so they often talk, laugh and listen to great music while cleaning. Josh said, “It’s like I’m getting paid to hang out with Rene.” 

Although they have fun, Rene and Josh leave cars looking like they were professionally detailed! They spent long hours researching proper equipment and techniques to prepare them to do the best job possible. On every car, they clean the interior first, front to back. This involves vacuuming, wiping down all surfaces and making sure no spot is left untouched. They then clean the exterior with the same attention to detail, cleaning tires, windows and all surfaces. 

Rene and Josh will clean just about any car, but they have mostly received calls from clients with luxury cars. The coolest car they have had the opportunity to clean was a Porsche 718 Boxster. However, no matter what car they are cleaning, they make sure to take the utmost care to clean it fully. 

During the summer, they were able to answer many more client calls because there were no school obligations and fewer sports practices. Now they make sure to prioritize schoolwork, which has left less time for car detailing. 

Rene is very grateful to live in Fair Oaks Ranch as he is in close proximity to many clients. He is able to work efficiently and make connections with neighbors. Rene loves how welcoming everyone is; oftentimes clients are very generous, allowing them to take breaks in the air conditioning or use the house facilities. After all, what are neighbors for? 

Rene and Josh have put a lot of time, thought, and hard work into RG Triple Clean and hope that the business continues to grow. They are immensely grateful to everyone who has made their operation possible, and especially for their kindhearted clients who have given them the motivation to keep moving forward.
