Meet The Sadlers
Melissa Ashley Photography

We are the Sadler Family – John (32), Lindsay (30), Parker (3.5), Elliot (1.5), and baby girl Sadler due this month. We have been in Fair Oaks Ranch for 2.5 years. We moved here in August of 2022, when John got a job opportunity within his company (GE Healthcare). John was previously an engineer at GE in Houston but wanted to move to sales. When an opportunity popped up in May of 2022, we jumped on it and moved to FOR. I work as a Recruiter for Ernst & Young.
We moved to Fair Oaks thinking it would be temporary, but we quickly fell in love with the neighborhood (and the deer!) and knew we were going to be here to stay! Our Realtor Stephanie Fargo with The Wagner Team helped us purchase what we hope will be our "forever home" in April of 2024.
John grew up in Conroe, TX, and I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and then Katy, TX for high school. We both went to Texas A&M University - John is class of ‘14 and his degree is in Biomedical Engineering; I am class of ‘16 with a degree in Communication and Sociology. Although we went to TAMU at the same time, we didn’t meet until we lived in Houston post-grad. We actually "met" twice. John remembers meeting me at church in Houston, and I remember meeting John a month later at an arcade bar. John's roommate at the time worked with me, and John decided to crash our company happy hour one evening after work. We became fast friends and dated for a year and a half before getting engaged while skydiving! We’ve been married since 2019.
Our kids are excited to start school in Boerne in a few years. Meanwhile, they attend a local daycare. Parker does both gymnastics and dance through Webby Dance Company and we had fun watching her first dance recital in 2024. Parker also enjoyed taking swim lessons at Vista Swim during the spring and summer months. Like a typical boy, Elliott likes to eat and do anything dangerous. He loves diving face first down the slide on our new playset in the backyard...so much so that we had to put a mattress topper at the bottom of the slide to break his fall. He likes riding his bike and riding on dad's skateboard and we are excited to enroll him in Soccer Shots at his daycare this year!
John plays guitar and piano, plays keys in the worship band at our church (Cibolo Creek Community Church). The kids both love to sing and dance and enjoy using their karaoke set (which has a broken volume button and is currently stuck on the loudest setting...). They both also enjoy painting, coloring, and doing anything that involves making a mess for mom to clean. They love helping me bake muffins and cookies and Parker especially likes cracking the eggs into the bowl. I enjoy hosting girls’ nights, baby showers, and birthday parties for the kids. John and I competed in triathlons together in 2024 and look forward to doing more together in the future!
Since both of our extended families live in the Houston area, we typically travel to Houston over the holidays...although we are working on convincing our friends and family to move this way. The kids enjoy spending time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and 10 cousins!
You'll find us at Spotted Deer most Saturday mornings (and while Lindsay is on Maternity Leave, you'll find her and baby walking there almost every day to get the best vanilla sweet cream cold brew in town!). Our kids enjoy playing at Norman Vestal Park. We love Parker's Ice Cream shop, which our Parker refers to as "my ice cream shop". The kids enjoy getting their energy out at Arrows Play Park and taking the occasional trip to the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, or Doseum. John and I love a date night to El Mirasol. We are members of the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club and enjoy all of the events that the Club puts on. We recently participated in the "Glamping" event that they held and the kids enjoyed sleeping in a tent and roasting marshmallows by the fire. Mom and Dad enjoyed hot meals prepared for us and having running water and showers only a few feet away. In the summer, we spend a lot of time at the Club pool. Most Friday/Saturday nights are spent at the Live Music events and we love taking family there when they come to town to visit. John took Parker to the Father Daughter Dance last year and Parker still talks about it!
We are involved in our Church - Cibolo Creek Community Church and co-lead a life group of other parents with young kids. John also plays keys in the worship band a few times a month. I am a small group leader for the new Fair Oaks Ranch MomCo. (formerly MOPS) chapter that started this fall. MomCo is a non-profit organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. I enjoy meeting new moms in the community through this organization and having a small group of women to walk through life with.
Our favorite part of living in Fair Oaks is how welcoming and inviting everyone is. Moving here with almost no friends, we couldn't believe how quickly it felt like home. We love the hill country beauty and the laid back feel. In the backyard of our new house, we have one of Ralph Fair's original windmills and we love how peaceful it feels out back, especially in March/April when the backyard is full of Texas bluebonnets!
