Meet the Harmels - Breck, his wife Jessica, and their two kids Henry (11), and Josephine (10). They moved to Fair Oaks Ranch in 2019 after living in various locations around the country. Breck is from Spring, Jessica from Hondo; several years ago, they decided to bring the family home to Texas, and found Boerne to be a great community in which to put down roots.

Breck and Jessica met in New York City in June of 2001. Breck explains, “Jessica was working there in the fashion business, and I was in town for work one weekend and we randomly sat down next to each other in a cafe in Soho on a Sunday afternoon. We struck up a conversation, sparks flew, but sadly I had to return home to LA the next day. So, we wrote letters to each other (yes, the handwritten kind) for the next 6 months. During that time 9/11 happened and Jessica lived only a half mile from Ground Zero, so that was really a wakeup call for both of us. I flew back to NYC and we spent New Years together, and it was then we realized we never wanted to be apart again. In a city full of 6 million people, looking at all the things God's blessed us with since that day we know now it was no accident that we met all those years ago.”

Breck received a BBA in Marketing/Management and is currently the Director of New Technology for electroCore, Inc. a publicly traded neuromodulation company. Jessica received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Texas and owns Calypso Custom Window Coverings, a custom drapery and blind business here in Boerne (www.calypsofurnishings.com).

Both Henry and Josephine attend the Geneva School of Boerne. Henry has a passion for baseball and is very involved in Boerne Little League. Josie loves art and was recently cast in her school play which she is over the moon about! Both kids are very involved with the Boerne Community Theatre, an organization near and dear to the Harmel family.

When asked if they have any pets, Breck replied “Do we have pets...at one point it seems as if we were running a small animal shelter (Jessica has never met a stray she can turn away). We've had 11 cats, 2 dogs, 4 chickens and 3 fish. Sadly, the pet cemetery in our backyard is growing, but the joy they've brought us over the years is immeasurable.”

When asked about talents or unique skills, Breck revealed that “for the last 25 years, I've scared hundreds of thousands of fans as the star of the horror franchise "Jeepers Creepers". I was an actor for 15 years in Hollywood and starred in 38 movies, but the most iconic role of my career was definitely as "The Creeper".”

Breck and Jessica are active in the community. “We are blessed to be a part of Cibolo Creek Community Church, and we love being members of Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club, where we play golf and pickleball! Recently, our son was excited about the opening of the new baseball card shop in the neighborhood, Primetime Sports Cardz! We also love supporting the local music store, Wolf Music Company. Lastly, when Jessica and I get away for an adult dinner, we love the restaurant Signature (the most civilized spot in San Antonio)!” In addition, the Harmels give back to the community in significant ways. Jessica serves on our neighborhood Board, and in 2023 Breck started the Boerne100, a group of 100 local men who meet once a Quarter to collectively give in support of local causes here in Boerne and the surrounding area (www.boerne100.org).

Breck and Jessica are happy they found a home in Fair Oaks. “We love living in Fair Oaks Ranch. It's close enough to the city, but far enough out so you can still breathe. And the values of this community really resonate with Jessica and me. It reminds us of how we grew up, because our kids can still ride their bikes down the street to see their friends. That really is everything to us.”
