If you’ve ever heard a mysterious baying sound echoing through the Fair Oaks Ranch neighborhood, there’s a good chance Maple is nearby—and she would like everyone to know it! Maple's family sends their deepest apologies to the neighbors.

Maple is a three-year-old liver-and-tan Bloodhound who joined her family in January 2023, when Landon and Jenna were living in Dallas. As if bringing home a new puppy wasn’t exciting enough, the week they drove to Oklahoma to pick up Maple, they discovered another little girl was on the way: Lucy!

Since then, Maple and Lucy have grown up together, and their bond has become one of the sweetest parts of family life. Maple has appointed herself Lucy’s official four-legged shadow, frequently parking herself beside her toddler tower and inserting herself into every possible family cuddle. Naturally, she believes affection is best enjoyed in the middle of it.

The family moved to Fair Oaks Ranch in 2024 and quickly fell in love with the community. Maple can often be spotted strolling through the neighborhood, enjoying playtime at Wagmore Pet Resort, or accompanying her family to local favorites like Spotted Deer Coffee Company and Free Roam Brewing Company.

Her hobbies include car rides, antlers, tennis balls, and investigating backyard wildlife—especially skunks, armadillos and squirrels. Her family has learned that Bloodhound curiosity is not easily contained. As the saying goes, “a bored hound is a bad hound,” and Maple has provided plenty of evidence, including an unfortunate history involving remote controls and her very enthusiastic jaws.

But beneath all that mischief is a devoted family dog. Maple absolutely adores Lucy and seems determined to be part protector, part playmate and part professional snuggler.

For Maple, family life is simple: follow Lucy, investigate everything, collect affection—and, when necessary, remind the neighborhood that a Bloodhound has a voice and isn’t afraid to use it!
