Meet the Dynamic Duo
Rooty and Lucy, Franklin’s Favorite Furry Friends!

HEIDI AND BILL IULIANO have called Franklin home for nearly 20 years, and their family of four—along with three lovable rescue dogs—embodies the town’s sense of community and warmth. Their children are active in local school programs, including music, varsity swim, and Mock Trial, and their son became an Eagle Scout with projects at local parks like Fletcher and Dacey.
The Iulianos’ pets—Rooty, Lucy, and Coda—are an inseparable trio. Rooty, a 10-year-old pit and hound mix, joined the family years ago, followed by Lucy, a 1-year-old French Bulldog, last spring. Initially unsure of his new companion, Rooty quickly warmed to Lucy, and the two have become best friends. Their third dog, Coda, is a 14-year-old Australian cattle mix.
All three dogs are rescue pets, and Heidi speaks fondly of their affectionate nature. Rooty, Lucy, and Coda are known to greet guests with enthusiastic affection, convinced that every visitor’s arrival is a party just for them. Heidi cherishes quiet moments when the dogs cuddle together in front of the woodstove during cold winter days.
Their love for the outdoors is evident as well. With a fenced-in yard and trips to local spots like Franklin Forest and Hopkinton State Park, Rooty and Lucy (especially) love a good game of ball. As for being spoiled—Heidi admits it’s a definite “yay!” when it comes to their dogs.
Franklin is lucky to have such a loving, dog-friendly family—and Rooty and Lucy are sure to brighten any day they encounter!
