The Giving Tree of Hummelstown and Hershey
Branching out to serve families in crisis or transition
Serving Hummelstown and Hershey for over 20 years, The GIving Tree was founded by a group of women who saw a need in their communities to serve. Through dozens of active volunteers, the organization is able to assist over 150 families in Lower Dauphin and Derry Township school districts.
Networking and connecting are how the women keep their communities' needs top-of-mind, understanding that basic needs are often overlooked. Through financial donations, Giving Tree is able to assist families in crisis or transition with vision care, dental hygiene kits, winter coats, books, fruit baskets, personal care hygiene kits and food items. Last fall, the organization provided 125 winter coats to children in our area, a much needed necessity to brave this season's harsh temperatures.

The heart of the organization is based on the physical characteristics of a tree:

- Trunk – Our Connectors are out in the Community identifying those in need
