Caring Hearts: Bringing Joy Through Pet Therapy

Founded in February 2015 by Kathy Laverty, "Caring Hearts" is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing comfort and companionship to local communities. The program connects registered and insured therapy pets with adults and children, fostering meaningful and uplifting interactions. Every visit is guided by experienced volunteer handlers who ensure safe, positive, and therapeutic experiences for everyone involved.
The name "Caring Hearts" perfectly captures the essence of the organization’s three-part mission. First, it honors the dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their time to share their wonderful animals with those in need. Second, it highlights the "caring hearts" of the therapy pets themselves, who offer pure, unconditional love to every person they meet. Finally, it celebrates the adults and children in the community who open their arms to embrace these animals with mutual love and affection.
Through this powerful bond between humans and animals, the program provides vital emotional support, reduces loneliness, and brings smiles to hospitals, schools, and care facilities. Powered entirely by volunteer passion, "Caring Hearts" continues to make a lasting, compassionate impact, one therapeutic visit at a time.
