This October, art lovers can step inside the places where local creativity takes shape. The 2026 Hershey/Hummelstown Art Studio Tour is a free, self-guided driving tour that invites visitors to meet artists in their studios, learn about their process, and discover original work throughout the Hummelstown and Hershey area.

     The weekend features pottery, stained and fused glass, jewelry, fiber art, watercolor, oil painting, mixed media, collage, sculpture, and wildlife art, with many pieces available for purchase directly from the artists. This year’s artists represent a broad cross-section of the region’s creative community. The tour includes Joe Beal of Nostalgic Metal, Claudia Christensen of Creations by Sparky, Luise Christensen-Howell of Glasshaus Studio, Jim Farrell, Jamie Juliana of Phoenix Pottery Studio, Dale Kelly, Joan Maguire of Hershey Art Gallery, Laird Morgan of Art on Derry, Sue Ann Myers, Jill Peckelun, Archana Sehgal, and Lynn Shirk.

Among the artists opening their doors is Claudia Christensen, a self-taught Pennsylvania artist whose creativity spans fiber, wood, glass, and clay. A paramedic and Emergency Medical Services Chief, Christensen began making fiber art as personalized gifts for staff members, and that thoughtful impulse grew into a broader practice of small sculptures and fiber artworks shaped by care, craftsmanship, and imagination.

     Archana Sehgal brings vibrant color and precise brushwork to whimsical compositions. Her practice includes watercolor, gouache, acrylics, oils, and pottery, reflecting her ongoing interest in exploring new mediums.

     Sue Ann Myers, through Brush With Birds, focuses on realistic bird, wildlife, and nature paintings in oils and watercolors, along with kiln-fired porcelain pieces. Her work invites viewers to appreciate animals and birds within the habitats that inspire her.

     Jill Peckelun’s abstracted landscapes begin in observation but evolve into something more imaginative. Her paintings reflect motion, experimentation, and a search for story within an image.

     Luise Christensen-Howell has worked with glass since 1984, eventually making the medium her full-time occupation. From her Hershey studio, she creates original glass art using the traditional Tiffany method, including window panels, small lamps, glass boxes, and panels in metal stands. Her commissions include church windows, entrance doors, and a major installation of 63 stained-glass butterflies at the Catherine and Milton Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens. Her work is available at Lebanon Picture Frame and Fine Art Gallery, Art on Derry, and by appointment at her studio.

     At Hershey Art Gallery & Gifts, Joan Maguire’s watercolor, oil, and collage works are known for cheerful color and a spirit of joy. Raised in a family of artists, musicians, and makers, Maguire fully immersed herself in painting in her mid-40s after creating Field of Dreams, a piece that launched a body of work now found in homes across the country. Maguire’s gallery also showcases local artisans through jewelry, leaded glass, repurposed metal sculpture, skincare products, vintage items, and other carefully selected pieces. Her second-floor studio and gallery space offer visitors a welcoming place to view art, local craft, and garden views.
