Rocking for a Cure: Lake Highlands Students Strike a Powerful Chord Against Cancer

The 3rd Annual Hope Healing Cancer with Music Festival was an incredible success. These high school kids did an amazing job raising awareness and funds for Blood Cancer United.

Congratulations to Lake Highlands residents, Team Blood, Sweat, & Cures, Ellie Brown, Hailey Tillery, and their team, who won the title of Student Visionaries of the Year competition by raising the most funds in Dallas County for Blood Cancer United over the last seven weeks. And to Lake Highlands resident Team CureQuest leader Lauren Lockhart and team, who came in as runner-up amongst 18 teams. This year, the two teams combined raised over $64,000 during this event. All of it will support the fight against blood cancer and save lives.

These resourceful young leaders worked for months to make this happen. Securing sponsors, our emcee: Ryan McLemore, 5 bands, and 5 blood cancer survivor speakers, plus 60 silent auction items, merch, concessions, games, and an unbelievable amount of work contributed to the event's success.

None of which they could do without the local LH sponsors: Marable Homes, Jenn Brown Coaching, Martin Painting, Resident Taqueria, The BAR Group, Bang Cookies, and Sally Beauty for supporting these student leaders and this important cause. We greatly appreciate your support and ultimate impact.

Lake Highlands' support truly made this event a success. Thank you!
