Lake Highlands Joins Record-Breaking North Texas Giving Day 2025
Once again, Lake Highlands neighbors proved that when our community comes together, incredible things happen. This year’s North Texas Giving Day, led by the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), set new records as more than 100,000 donors across the region raised an astounding $78 million for over 3,500 local nonprofits—the largest total in the event’s 17-year history.
At midnight on September 18, early reports showed $74.2 million in donations. In the days that followed, additional gifts poured in, bringing the final total to $78 million. Contributions supported a wide range of causes—from education and health to the arts, environment, and animal welfare—all thanks to the generosity of North Texans giving back to their own communities.
“This year, North Texans once again showed the extraordinary power of collective generosity,” said Wayne White, President and CEO of Communities Foundation of Texas. “With many nonprofits facing unexpected funding changes, this outpouring of support is helping meet real needs across our community.”
Here in Lake Highlands, several local nonprofits benefited directly from this generosity, including Feed Lake Highlands, Lake Highlands Young Life, Forerunner Mentoring, EMERGE Lake Highlands, White Rock Conservancy, CHEW Animal Clinic, White Rock Dog Rescue, and more. These organizations continue to make an incredible difference for families, students, and even four-legged friends right here at home.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all our amazing neighbors who gave their time, resources, and energy to make this record-breaking day possible. Your kindness helps keep Lake Highlands strong, connected, and compassionate all year long.
