With boots on and a shared purpose in mind, more than 400 guests gathered at Gilley's Dallas on April 11 for this year’s AWARE Affair—an evening dedicated to raising awareness and support for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Hosted by AWARE North Texas, the “Boots, Buckles & Brain Health” theme set the tone for a lively and welcoming night, where denim, boots, and big-hearted generosity came together in support of a meaningful mission. Under the leadership of event chairs Heidi and Cole Snadon, and Katie and Neal Doherty, along with presenting sponsor and honorary chairs Sheryl and Gary Wood, the evening served as a powerful reminder that while the journey can be difficult, no one has to face it alone. Attendees included longtime supporters, new friends, caregivers, and advocates—each bringing their own experience, yet united in a common purpose: to rise above Alzheimer’s together.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of this year’s honorees, whose dedication continues to make a lasting impact through advocacy, care, and community leadership.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and donors, the AWARE Affair raised critical funds to support local nonprofits for their research, caregiver resources, education, and programs that enhance quality of life for those affected by dementia.

More than a fundraiser, the AWARE Affair was a celebration of connection, resilience, and hope—bringing the community together to move forward with strength, compassion, and a shared commitment to rising above Alzheimer’s together.
