Sweet Traditions Shine at the Annual Holiday Cookie Event

On a gorgeous December Saturday, neighbors of all ages—with kids, without kids, and plenty of cookie-loving adults flying solo—stopped by Ed Kellum & Son for one of our favorite holiday traditions: our annual cookie decorating event! The whole space felt festive and cozy as everyone jumped into frosting, sprinkles, and plenty of creativity.

Santa made his big entrance (to the delight of pretty much everyone). He not only posed for photos with April Barnes Photography but also brought along his North Pole Passport to show off all the magical places he’s traveled this season. Mrs. Claus added her own sparkle with fresh-baked treats and even surprised guests with a little show-and-tell—freshly brushed reindeer hair straight from Comet!

With the frosting bar, candy toppings, and more sprinkles than anyone could count, simple sugar cookies quickly turned into mini masterpieces. It was one of those easy, happy afternoons that reminds you why these neighborhood traditions feel so special.

Huge thanks to Frost Bank for sponsoring the frosting station and to Summerhill Pools • Outdoor Living for keeping everyone warm with their crowd-favorite hot chocolate bar. The Board Lady DFW wowed guests with beautiful Christmas grazing boards, and of course, we’re grateful to the amazing team at Ed Kellum & Son for hosting another memorable community gathering.

We’re already excited for next year—especially with the new Ed Kellum & Son location opening soon at Mockingbird Station!
