The Junior League of Dallas brought a spirited touch of Western fun to Gilley’s Dallas this past November, and plenty of Lake Highlands neighbors were among the nearly 300 guests who attended the sold-out Giddy Up for Good Auction Party. The annual event supports the League’s Community Program and Signature Projects, which help fund grants and initiatives that make a meaningful impact throughout Dallas.

Lake Highlands attendees enjoyed a lively evening filled with music, mingling, and plenty of Western flair. Many shared that the Tex-Mex–inspired menu was one of their favorite parts of the night, especially the Mexican sweet corn cakes layered with barbacoa and cotija, the smoked comino chicken tostadas, and the Texas Hill Country nosh table stocked with smoked sausages, cheeses, and fresh fruit. Of course, the build-your-own nacho bar became an instant hit. The signature “Cowboy Ranchwater,” served in cowboy boot-shaped glasses, added a fun twist that had guests raising a toast more than once.

Photo moments were also popular, from the glowing “Giddy Up” marquee from Alpha Lit Dallas to the 360-degree video booth capturing friends in full Western spirit. DJ CSTATZ, official DJ of the World Series Champion Texas Rangers, kept neighbors boot-scooting well into the night. Another highlight was the Rancher Hat Bar pop-up, where guests customized cowboy hats—an activity that blended creativity, keepsakes, and support for JLD.

The silent auction drew plenty of excitement with standout items including front-row Dallas Mavericks tickets, a luxury stay at Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, a Gittings Portraiture pop art portrait, a year of cookies from JD’s Chippery, and a Pampillonia Jewelers shopping spree.

It was an evening that showcased not only Western charm, but also the generosity and community spirit that Lake Highlands neighbors bring wherever they go.
