Future Stars Shine: Jr. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Take the Field
The Jr. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders of Lake Highlands Dance Academy performed on Saturday night at the Dallas Cowboys vs. Rams pre-season game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Dancing on the field during halftime in front of a packed house of Cowboys fans, taking photos with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and watching the DCC perform Thunderstruck from a sideline seat, were all experiences these young ladies will carry with them for many years to come.
Vandy Haby, a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (2002-2005) and owner of Lake Highlands Dance Academy, was chosen last year among a select few Dallas area elite dance and cheer studios, to develop a Junior DCC team. She eagerly accepted the invitation and built a total of three teams; pink, blue and silver, with dancers ranging from 5-12 years old. Over the past year, 130+ young dancers have joined the program at LHDA.
The girls are able to participate in several area events including the Dallas Cowboys Rally Days at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Christmas Parade, the Cowboys Christmas Spectacular at the Star in Frisco, Holiday Kick Off at Lake Highlands Town Center, Hoops in the Highlands and more. The halftime performance was among the largest audience to date for the girls. They may even appear on a future episode of "America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" on Netflix, featuring the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
