Holiday in the Highlands: A Festive Tour Through Four Lake Highlands Homes
More than 1,300 neighbors ushered in the holiday season with one of Lake Highlands’ most beloved traditions—the 47th Annual Holiday in the Highlands Home Tour, presented by Walne Family Holdings.

Each year, the tour offers a rare peek behind the wreaths adorning beautifully decorated neighborhood homes, with proceeds supporting the Lake Highlands Women’s League and its mission of funding local nonprofits, enriching neighborhood schools, and awarding scholarships to Lake Highlands High School seniors. Since 1970, the event has contributed nearly $4 million to the community.
This year’s tour featured four stunning homes, each offering its own take on festive décor, thoughtful design, and the charm of Lake Highlands living.
Home of Katie & Daniel Sibley | 10829 Eden Roc Drive
Nestled along peaceful Eden Roc Drive, this Ju-Nel mid-century modern treasure blended history with holiday joy. After purchasing the home in 2020, Daniel Sibley—owner of Sibley Design • Build—remodeled it with careful attention to the original 1961 architecture. At Christmastime, the home comes alive with colorful lights and nostalgic touches, perfectly reflecting the Sibleys’ love for family traditions and mid-century style.

A Festive Finish: Sip & Shop
Home of Alison & Andrew Kirkpatrick | 9511 Parkford Drive
This 1959 ranch-style home showcased the creative touch of designer and homeowner Alison Kirkpatrick of Lane Living Design. The family’s 2024 renovation reimagined the floor plan for life with young children while honoring the home’s original charm. Guests admired the character-filled details, from the vintage chandelier sourced from a Habitat for Humanity ReStore to the large, eye-catching Matisse-inspired painting in the den.
Home of Megan & Brad Bean | 9535 Aldwick Drive
The Beans—builder and designer duo behind Bean Co. Homes—brought their signature blend of personality and craftsmanship to their remodeled corner-lot home. Inspired by their stylish grandmothers and travels, the homebalances an open layout with intentionally defined spaces. Pops of color delighted tour-goers—from the olive-green kitchen and pink-and-green scullery to the rich tones of the laundry room and boys’ bath. Each room felt like a chic, welcoming surprise.
Home of Kristie & Brant Ince | 9230 Club Glen
Originally built in 1978 and remodeled in 2024, the Ince home seamlessly blended comfort, creativity, and functionality. Visitors were immediately drawn to the dramatic floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace and the home’s curated collection of art, much of it passed down through family or personally acquired. The expansive chef’s kitchen was the most significant portion of the remodel, while the adjacent pool house—renovated the year prior—offered a versatile entertaining space with patio doors that open to connect the two properties.
Before and during the tour, neighbors also enjoyed the Holiday in the Highlands Sip & Shop, presented by Park Place Dealerships, at the KayCee Club. With more than 20 local vendors and a cheerful holiday atmosphere, it served as a favorite gathering place for picking up gifts. New this year, the Impact Tree allowed shoppers to contribute directly to the League’s scholarship and community funds.
The Home Tour and Sip & Shop once again reminded us why Lake Highlands shines brightest during the holidays—not just through decorated homes, but through neighbors who gather, give back, and celebrate the spirit of community. As the League continues its work in the months ahead, the impact of this festive weekend will be felt well beyond the season.
