Meeka
Part Human, Mostly Husky
Hello there! My name is Meeka, and I am a loving Husky mix. My name is Meeka because my owner, Madds Luff, loved the movie Snow Dogs growing up, and she remembered that there was a husky named Meeka in the movie. I’ve been with my owner for twelve years. I’ve been through everything—high school to college to now—with her. She saw me on Facebook in a post one day, and she saw that I would’ve gone to a shelter if I hadn’t gotten picked up.
I am a very vocal dog, and sometimes I try to speak English. Madds says it sounds like whiny howling, though. I love to tan in the sun, unlike some other Huskies. I love the feeling of the warm sun on my fur. Also, I love to stare at the squirrels in the trees around Lakewood. I like to give hugs, and I lean on people with my full body weight if they pet me. I love pets, and I bow my head when people pet me.
My favorite toys are my plush baby toys. I do not rip them up; I just carry them around and take turns dragging them outside with me. I’m a very spoiled pet with many toys. I hate baths, and every time Madds gives me a bath, she gives me a spoonful or two of peanut butter to coax me into the tub. I love peanut butter, almost as much as I love walks around the neighborhood. I just walk and stare at the beautiful, green trees.
Finally, I am going to leave you with a funny story. One time I chased a bunny at night, and I went so far down the street. I was so close to getting it, but alas, I did not. I sadly walked back to the gate of my house, ashamed. I hope this made you laugh, and thank you for reading about me!
