Mark Rado of Balloon Kings Dallas: Making Dallas Celebrations Pop—Literally.

If you’ve ever driven past a party in Dallas and caught yourself wondering, “Where do they get balloons that fabulous?” chances are, Mark Rado had something to do with it.

Mark is the owner of Balloon Kings Dallas, a boutique balloon décor studio located in Uptown/East Dallas that’s making waves (and arches, garlands, and giant balloon installations) across the city. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a dreamy wedding, a corporate event, or a backyard bash, Balloon Kings brings high-design flair to the humble balloon, and then takes it to a whole new level.

Originally launched in New York over a decade ago, Balloon Kings came to Dallas in September of last year when Mark saw an opportunity to help neighbors with their parties and events. “With the closure of Party City and limited options for same-day, customized balloon delivery, there was a clear need here,” Mark explains. “I wanted to create a storefront where people could walk in, see everything in person, and build something truly special.”

And he’s done just that. The shop features over 75 latex balloon colors and hundreds of mylar options, making customization both exciting and nearly limitless. From quick grab-and-go garlands to dramatic, large-scale balloon walls, Balloon Kings delivers - literally and figuratively.

What sets them apart? Aside from the creativity, it’s the full-service, in-person experience. “We’re one of the only balloon businesses in Dallas with a retail storefront,” says Mark. “You can come in, get hands-on, and collaborate with us to bring your vision to life. Plus, we’re open seven days a week because parties don’t take weekends off.”

While the designs are bold and the installs are eye-catching, Mark’s favorite part of the job is the meaning behind each creation. “It’s really about the moments: birthdays, weddings, baby showers. Our work becomes part of someone’s celebration, and that’s incredibly rewarding.”

If you think balloon décor is just for kids’ parties, think again. “The industry has evolved so much, it’s now a form of modern event art,” Mark says. “There are certifications, national conferences, and yes, balloon design competitions. The trends change like fashion. One year it’s chrome finishes, the next it’s boho neutrals. We stay on top of it all.”

Beyond the business, Mark is deeply rooted in the Dallas community. He regularly donates décor to schools, nonprofits, and local events, and he’s always looking for ways to spread joy through color and creativity. “One of the most memorable moments was delivering balloon bouquets to a family shelter for Easter,” he shares. “Those little things can bring big smiles.”

When he’s not designing celebrations, Mark is focused on growing service-based businesses that reflect the spirit of Dallas. With two locations of The NOW Massage already under his belt, he’s a local entrepreneur with both vision and heart.

So the next time you want your event to pop (pun absolutely intended), you know who to call.
