Faith, Festivities, and Family: A Lakewood Christmas with the Joneses
As the holiday season unfolds, meet the Jones family, whose love for community and tradition lights up Lakewood.
Introducing Alzavian and Olivia Jones, an adventurous Lakewood family with a passion for faith, design, and community. Alongside their three beloved rescue Great Pyrenees—Hank, Gia, and Cherry—the Joneses have made Lakewood their home and are embracing all the joy it brings.
Alzavian, 32, is a Discipleship Pastor, and together with Olivia, they are launching Dallas Discipleship Ministries, a new ministry focused on faith and discipleship. Olivia, 30, is also the creative mind behind OT INTERIOR DESIGN, where she combines her passion for design with her expertise gained at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
The couple moved to Lakewood shortly after their wedding last year, and Olivia has deep roots in the area, having grown up here. Alzavian, originally from Greenville, Texas, joined the United States Army after high school, serving as a Fire Support Specialist. After their wedding, Lakewood became the perfect place to call home, especially with their close-knit family living just a few miles away.
Christmas is a magical time for the Jones family. Olivia's mom, lovingly known as "mama," takes on the role of Mrs. Claus, keeping the festive spirit alive, even into adulthood. Whether it’s walking their three giant dogs or biking through the neighborhood, the family loves being outdoors and active. White Rock Lake is one of their favorite spots, where they enjoy the serenity and natural beauty.
The couple also shares a passion for food, often unwinding over home-cooked meals of steak or pasta. When dining out, local favorites like Sasa Sushi are at the top of their list. During the holidays, a visit to the Dallas Arboretum is always a highlight.
Faith is a cornerstone of their lives, inspiring their ministry work and deep commitment to connecting with and serving others. These days, they find spiritual support and community at The Father's Church, Olivia's childhood church.
For those new to Lakewood, the Joneses have simple yet meaningful advice: take time to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the neighborhood. And if you happen to spot them walking their trio of Pyrenees, don’t hesitate to say hello—they’d love to meet you!
