Dallas Museum of Art: Arts & Letters Live with Bill Gates, in conversation with Mark Cuban
Arts and Letters Live is a literary and performing arts series at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) featuring award-winning authors and performers. I attended was a conversation between two entrepreneurs, Bill Gates was interviewed by Mark Cuban about Gates’ new book Source Code: My Beginnings. Cuban asked Gates about the less well-known aspects of his life, particularly his childhood. Gates revealed that he was entrepreneurial from a young age, earning enough money to buy houses in his youth, around my current age. They both discussed the challenges of growing up with many aspirations and dreams. I found their discussion about their early experiences in entrepreneurship particularly inspirational. Arts and Letters Live is a great series, appropriate for everyone who enjoys reading. I recommend ages 13 and up.
Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 with his childhood friend Paul Allen and is now chair of the Gates Foundation. He is the founder of Breakthrough Energy, an effort to commercialize clean energy and other climates-friendly technologies, and TerraPower: a company investing in developing groundbreaking nuclear technologies.
