It’s a Holly Jolly July

This pint-sized pup may have arrived in December, but her playful spirit shines bright all year long.

Hello there readers! My name is Holly Haines, and I am a Shih Tzu! My owner, Ann Haines, got me so I could be her companion. She was living with her dad, and he was struggling and had to go to Memory Care a few times. Ann was left home alone and wanted to continue caretaking, and she needed a buddy. Ann got me a few days before Christmas of 2023, 12-22-23 to be exact. She wanted to name me something Christmas themed that also fit well with the last name Haines.

A little bit about me is that I am a very social and extroverted dog. I love people, children, and other dogs! I love to play; it is all I want to do! I am also very well behaved in public and can answer familiar yes or no questions. I turned a year old on September 5th, 2024, and I still never get tired of playing. I weigh about nine pounds and would love to find other dogs my size for a playdate!

A fun story about me is from Christmas 2024, which was a very good Christmas for me! Ann was so proud of me. I visited Santa with two of my other furry friends and participated in opening my presents very sweetly. On Christmas Eve, Ann’s mom told me “Santa’s coming tonight,” and I ran to the windows and started looking for him!

I am a very spoiled and lucky dog. I love when Ann caries me around, which is frequently. She especially carries me around the house a lot. Lastly, here are a few more fun facts about me. I hate to be alone. I prefer to greet other dogs by touching noses because I am not too thrilled when dogs check out my backside. However, I have learned to tolerate their curiosity. Thank you for reading and for learning a little bit about me! I hope you enjoyed!
