LH Brubaker Appliances & Water Treatment
A Family Legacy of Service and Value
When you walk into LH Brubaker Appliances & Water Treatment, you’re stepping into more than just an appliance and water treatment store — you’re entering a business with over 90 years of history, deep community roots, and a passion for helping customers find the perfect fit for their homes.
The story begins in 1932, when Lester Brubaker opened a farm equipment store in West Lampeter, Lancaster County. At the time, the business served local farmers with the tools and machinery they needed to keep their operations running. Few could have guessed that this small shop would one day grow into one of the region’s most trusted names in appliances and water treatment.
A pivotal moment came when Donald H. Frank, who worked for Lester, began selling GE freezers to local farmers. This new direction not only expanded what the store offered but also became an early step toward ownership for Donald and his wife, Elnora. In time, the couple purchased the business, laying the foundation for the appliance and water treatment company LH Brubaker is today.
Now in its third generation of family ownership, LH Brubaker continues to grow while holding onto the values that have guided it from the start: quality products, outstanding service, and a genuine commitment to the community. With three convenient locations, the business remains proudly family-owned and dedicated to providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience.
In Lancaster, the move from Plaza Boulevard to the current Fruitville Pike showroom marked an exciting chapter. The previous location was already in Manheim Township, but the new space brought a fresh, modern environment that customers have warmly embraced.
“The move to Fruitville Pike has been a huge success,” says co-owner Don Frank Jr. “Our showrooms provide a unique shopping experience — customers can see and touch the products in thoughtfully designed spaces that inspire their own home projects. It’s a place where people can take their time, ask questions, and feel confident about their decisions.”
That experience is matched by the variety of products and services offered. “We provide a wide range of appliances and water treatment solutions to fit every budget and lifestyle,” shares co-owner Lacy See. “A lot of people don’t realize we also specialize in water treatment systems — something that can make a big difference in the health, taste, and quality of your home’s water. Whether it’s for appliances, drinking, or bathing, we have solutions that really improve daily life. Our customers know they’re getting quality products and great value, along with the kind of personalized service you don’t find at big-box stores.”
That dedication keeps customers coming back — often for generations. Many families who shopped with LH Brubaker decades ago now send their children and grandchildren through the showroom doors.
For co-owner Andrew Frank, it’s simple: “We truly appreciate every customer who chooses to shop with us. We’re here because of this community, and we look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers. We hope to see you soon.”
From its humble beginnings as a farm equipment store to its role today as a trusted resource for appliances and water treatment, LH Brubaker has stood the test of time by combining innovation, value, and hometown service — with family at its heart.
