The Mill Creek Women's Club, established in 1983, has a rich history of fostering friendships, social connections, and philanthropic efforts within the Mill Creek community and its surrounding areas. Originally formed as a platform for like-minded women to come together, the club's mission has evolved over the years.

The MCWC, which has a longstanding presence in the community, will be celebrating its 40th year. The original objective of the club was to provide a space for women to meet and connect. It has served as a platform for members to form lasting friendships and bonds. The club is deeply involved in enhancing its community through friendship and philanthropy. This demonstrates a commitment to giving back to the local area. The club's philanthropic efforts primarily revolve around the needs of women and children in the community. It focuses on charities that may not have substantial corporate donors but can greatly benefit from the club's contributions. Many of the club's charitable endeavors involve providing essential items such as food and clothing to those in need. This underscores the club's dedication to addressing immediate and critical needs in the community. The club actively engages in fundraising activities to support its philanthropic initiatives.

The philanthropy committee, led by Margaret Durkee, plays a pivotal role in organizing monthly fundraisers with creative and diverse themes. Such themed fundraisers can be a great way to engage our members, provide unique and enjoyable experiences, and raise funds for our philanthropic efforts. Our largest fundraiser is a Happy Hour we hold in November and features speakers from two charities. Some of the charities we have supported this year are Homage, a nonprofit that provides services to seniors and those with disabilities, and Cocoon House, a nonprofit that helps support homeless youth. Support is also provided to YWCA Pathways for Women, YWCA Working Wardrobe, Domestic Violence Services, and area schools. In 2022-2023 we were very successful, and through our fundraisers and monthly philanthropic events, raised over $40,000 for local charities.

The club has experienced considerable growth over the years, indicating its popularity and relevance within the community.
