Best Seat in Town

Moraga’s Home-Court Advantage
One of Moraga’s biggest attractions is right in our own backyard, yet many local families have never experienced it for themselves.
At Saint Mary’s, residents can watch some of the highest-level college basketball in the country just minutes from home. Our arena holds approximately 3,500 people.  There really is not a bad seat and when full, the atmosphere is hard to match. The Gaels enter this new chapter with a 26-game home winning streak and a program that has reached postseason play for 19 consecutive seasons.
This year brings an exciting transition with Mickey McConnell taking over as head coach. Mickey knows Saint Mary’s, understands Moraga and brings his own style while remaining grounded in the toughness, discipline and connection that have long defined Gaels basketball. There is tremendous energy around the program, and we do not plan to take a step back.
What makes Saint Mary’s athletics special, however, extends well beyond the scoreboard. Local children attend our camps, meet our student-athletes and form relationships that are difficult to find at larger universities. Families can come to basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, water polo and other events, to watch talented student-athletes compete at an exceptionally high level.
The relationship between Saint Mary’s and the Town has grown stronger in recent years, and that is exactly how it should be. We want the community on campus, filling the stands and feeling connected to the teams representing Moraga.
So, as the new basketball season approaches, come see what is happening. Bring the family, wear red and blue, and help us make home-court advantage even stronger!
