Max, a 2-year-old French Bulldog mix, lives with family Craig J.

Where/why did you get your pet? I got my pet through Dog Gone Seattle—a rescue. I got him because I’ve always had a dog and I was ready for a new dog after about 6 months had passed. 

Is there a story behind its name? Just seemed like the right name out of a long list of potential names my friends and I came up with. The other top contender was Ted, but Max suited him best once he got home. 

Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)? He likes to crawl places, and needs hugs when you return home. He also stockpiles toys (and a bed) underneath the couches and my bed. He’ll hang out there if not on the couch. 

What do you like best about your pet? His personality is what shines the most—he’s charming, sweet, and a little silly in the best way. On top of that, he’s my first small dog, and I’ve really come to love his size. He’s easy to take places, fits perfectly into my life, and yet has the big-dog energy packed into a smaller frame.

Any funny stories? We’ve stopped traffic a few times when pedestrians get too excited by his face. He’s also more popular than me. 

How spoiled is your pet? Probably a 9 out of 10. 

What else should we know about your pet and/or how your pet has enriched your home/family? He’s definitely become my sidekick and goes almost everywhere with me.
