Raised in Tacoma as one of seven siblings in a large, close-knit Filipino family, Shirley Eclipse-Chinery grew up with education, hard work, and community at the heart of her life. After beginning her studies at the University of Oregon, she went on to earn a degree in Communications and Psychology from the University of Washington.

Her career began at an advertising agency where she had previously interned, sparking a passion for creating campaigns that connected people with products and services they valued. Over the years, Shirley held account management and sales roles across advertising, media, and tech—including Comcast, KIRO Radio, KING-TV, CBS Radio, Seattle Business Magazine, GeekWire, Expedia, and Zillow. Throughout these experiences, her love of people remained constant: understanding goals, building trust, and delivering thoughtful solutions. Those skills—communication, negotiation, and customer service—now serve as the foundation for her career in real estate.

The Start of Eclipse-Chinery Homes

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted Shirley to reflect on her career path. After a layoff, she decided to pursue a long-standing interest in real estate. With four years of experience at Zillow, where she coached agents and team leaders, she entered the industry with a strong foundation. In January, she officially launched her real estate career full time with Keller Williams Eastside and founded Eclipse-Chinery Homes.

Looking ahead, Shirley envisions building a boutique-style business based on integrity, personal connection, and results. She hopes to grow into a trusted resource for Newcastle and beyond—not only as a real estate advisor, but also as a connector and community advocate. “This isn’t just about real estate,” she says, “it’s about building relationships, supporting local growth, and helping people feel at home in every sense of the word.”
