Publisher's Note
As summer begins its gentle wind-down, I’m still soaking up every last golden afternoon with my 5-year-old—bike rides, sticky popsicle hands, and cannonballs into the pool. August always feels like an in-between: not quite done with summer, not quite ready for fall. The days are still long, but back-to-school signs remind us that change is coming. Time to sneak out for that last camping trip or that mid-week fishing trip with your school-age kids...
This issue reflects that seasonal shift. You’ll find stories that celebrate the heart of Oakdale—our artists, athletes, families, first responders, and local businesses—people who continue to show up and give back, even in the August heat.
As a mom, I’m especially grateful for how this town embraces kids through parks, programs, and community traditions that remind me I’m right where I’m meant to be.
A big thank-you to the advertising partners who make Greet Oakdale possible each month. Their support helps us share the stories that connect us, and I encourage you to reach out to them and use their services when the need arises.
Thank you for reading and being part of this community. I hope this issue brings a little warmth, a little inspiration, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the season.
See you around town,
