Meet Emmett Dobroth

A Paso native with talent!

Emmett with his coach and teammates, co-captain Matthew Amman and Xander Hermanson

For Paso Robles High School senior Emmett Dobroth, being an athlete is about much more than what happens on the field. It is about leadership, accountability, friendships, and representing the community he has called home his entire life. Born and raised in Paso Robles, Emmett grew up alongside an older sister and older brother and has developed into a standout multi-sport athlete at Paso Robles High School. He competes in both football and baseball, and his dedication and leadership have earned him recognition from his coaches and teammates.
Emmett is a three-year varsity football player and serves as a captain for the Bearcats. Playing on both sides of the ball, he contributes at wide receiver on offense and safety on defense. He was honored to be nominated for recognition by Coach Carroll, but some of what Emmett values most about football cannot be found on a stat sheet. “My favorite thing about Paso Robles football is the culture that my teammates and I have worked so hard to build,” Emmett said. “It is so refreshing to have a team that can go out, play carefree, and have fun while still being able to hold each other and ourselves accountable to be the best versions of ourselves day in and day out.” That combination of enjoyment and accountability has helped shape him as both a player and a leader. As a senior and team captain, he understands the importance of setting an example and helping maintain the culture the team has worked to establish. Football, however, is only part of Emmett's athletic career. He is also a varsity baseball player, competing at catcher and first base. When he takes the diamond this coming season, he will begin his fourth year as a varsity starter.
Dobroth hopes his football career will continue beyond high school. He is currently navigating the college recruiting process with the goal of earning an opportunity to play collegiate football. While continuing to compete in sports is his dream, he is also focused on building a future beyond athletics. After high school, he plans to earn a college degree while pursuing his athletic goals. Ultimately, he hopes to return to the community that has been home his entire life and pursue a position with the Paso Robles Fire Department.
When he is away from football and baseball, Emmett has a new teammate keeping him busy: his four-month-old puppy, Moose. A Great Pyrenees and cattle dog mix, Moose has quickly become part of Emmett's everyday life. Emmett and his friends enjoy taking him to the beach, bringing him along to the football field, or simply walking him around the neighborhood.
Whether he is catching a pass under the Friday night lights, stepping behind the plate on the baseball diamond, spending time with Moose, or preparing for what comes after graduation, Emmett remains connected to the community where he grew up. As his senior year continues, he has his sights set on finishing his high school athletic career strong while preparing for his next challenge. Wherever football takes him, the culture of teamwork, accountability, and friendship he helped build at Paso Robles will remain an important part of his journey.
