GPR: Every dog has a story! Introduce us to your two pooches and tell us how they became part of your family.

Journey: I have two wonderful dogs, and they're both girls! Liberty, or "Libby," is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever/Labrador mix, and Remington, or "Remi," is a 9-year-old Labrador/Weimaraner mix.

Remington was born in March 2017, and we adopted her that September. We first saw her during an "Adopt-a-Dog Day" after a family friend told my mom about a puppy they thought we'd love. When we arrived, that puppy had already been adopted by another family. Then my brother and I spotted a little black puppy with a white patch on her chest and paws that looked like she had tiptoed through white paint. We immediately fell in love with her and convinced our parents to come meet her. They loved her just as much as we did. After returning from a short trip, we picked up Remi on our way home, and she's been part of our family ever since.

Liberty was born in July 2021. One of my mom's friends had a litter of puppies, and we were able to choose Libby and visit her until she was old enough to come home with us. We brought her home that September, and we've loved both of our dogs ever since.

GPR: Every dog has a personality all their own. What are some of the traits that make Remi and Libby so special?

Journey: Remington is incredibly calm and patient, especially when she's playing with her younger sister. Liberty is the complete opposite! She's playful, full of energy, and always ready for fun.

GPR: Does either of your furry friends have any impressive trick or hidden talent that makes your family smile?

Journey: Liberty knows several fun tricks, including giving high-fives, balancing on her back legs, and even carrying empty water bottles to the trash can.

GPR: What toys, games, or special treats can they never get enough of?

Journey: Liberty's favorite game is fetch, and she loves playing with her ball. Remington enjoys playing with rings and stuffed toys.

GPR: Looking back over all the fun you've shared together, what's one heartwarming memory with each dog that you'll always cherish?

Journey: My favorite memory of Liberty is when she jumped onto my bed to wake me up for school. One of my favorite memories of Remington is from when I was little. She would patiently let me dress her up in blankets and toy crowns, and she never seemed to mind.
