In Ridgefield, some of the most meaningful work happens behind the scenes, before the doors open, after the crowds leave, and whenever students, staff, or community events need extra support. Amy Draper and the Ridgefield Boosters represent that helpful, steady kind of service.

This recognition is especially timely as Ridgefield just celebrated the Class of 2026, the largest graduating class in Ridgefield history with more than 300 students. This class is also the first to complete all four years at both Sunset Ridge Intermediate School and View Ridge Middle School before graduating from Ridgefield High School. Some students also attended Wisdom Ridge, making the journey a milestone for the entire community.

Amy has been part of the Ridgefield Boosters program since 2012, serving in many roles and helping strengthen an organization dedicated to encouraging, enhancing, and supporting Ridgefield High School in academics, activities, and athletics while promoting community involvement.

This year, the Boosters' impact could be seen across the district. Parents and volunteers donated time, energy, and funds; opened a downtown spirit store; operated concessions at athletic events; and hosted teacher and staff appreciation days. Through grants, they provided lunchroom tables, infant carriers for the child development program, support for life skills class field trips, robotics program resources, and new mats for track-and-field high jump and pole vault athletes.

Draper said, "Parents really stepped up this year! All the profit and donations from concessions directly support the students." She added, "I've been the vice president since 2021, and in that time, I've watched so many amazing supporters leave their personal touch on the Boosters. It has been my privilege to be a part of all of it!"

Those contributions reflect more than a list of projects. They show what happens when volunteers say yes to planning, fundraising, serving, organizing, and showing up for students in practical, lasting ways.

As Ridgefield just honored a historic graduating class, it is also worth honoring the people who helped support these students throughout their school years. Amy Draper and the Ridgefield Boosters have helped create opportunities, build school spirit, and strengthen the connection between Ridgefield High School and the broader community.
