Happily Ever After, Onstage and Off

From R to L: Ryan Foy (The Baker), Chelsea Foy (The Baker's Wife), Jeff Pierce (The Narrator), Colleen Hawks-Pierce (The Witch)

In Into the Woods, familiar fairy tale characters chase their deepest wishes—love, family, adventure. For two real-life couples in the Gallo Center Repertory Company cast, those wishes have already come true.

Colleen Hawks-Pierce (The Witch) and Jeff Pierce (The Narrator) first crossed paths in Modesto Performing Art’s 1973 production of Oklahoma!, where they played Laurie and Curly. Their careers took them to Broadway and across the country; Colleen in shows like Shrek: The Musical and The Boy from Oz alongside Hugh Jackman on Broadway, and Jeff in the National Tour of Miss Saigon among others. Now, decades later, they return to Modesto to share the stage once more.

Chelsea (The Baker’s Wife) and Ryan Foy (The Baker) met while performing together on a national tour based out of New York City, and worked together on multiple U.S. and international tours. The two coincidentally also starred in an MPA show, as Sally and Cliff in the 2013 production of Cabaret. Chelsea most recently played Rona in GCRC’s production of Spelling Bee last season, and Ryan serves as the Director of Produced Theatre & Special Programming at the Gallo Center.

The full cast features returning favorites and fresh faces alike, including Ally Munson (Cinderella), Laurence Turner-Cordova (Jack), Evan Elisa Espinosa (Little Red Riding Hood), and many others. Directed by Patrick Norris and Music Directed by Lisette Sims, James Lapine's masterful storytelling and Stephen Sondheim's iconic score will enchant, entrance, and delight. Join us December 6-14 to see our wonderful cast find their happily ever after!
