Austin Coffee Crafters
A Local Favorite, New Ownership
Austin’s Coffee has long felt like more than a café. It is a community space shaped by everyone who has made it part of their routine, including the wonderful staff who help make it what it is.
For the original owner, this transition has been deeply personal. Austin’s was named after her brother, Austin, who passed away, and from the beginning the café carried special meaning for her and her family. When the time came to step away, she shared that she prayed to find new owners who would care for the business with the same heart and dedication she had poured into it since opening.
That answer came quickly. Later that day at the local farmers market, one of the first people she shared the news with ended up wanting the café. While she was ready to move on, she felt grateful and at peace knowing Austin’s could remain a gathering place for the community, just with a new family carrying it forward.
Now, Austin’s Coffee is in the hands of Sarah and Aaron Darpinian. They have two kids, Maxine and Harvey, and are known around town for starting the community @gardenjoy. Sarah’s family owned a bagel shop, and she spent a lot of time growing up in the business. Aaron is a full-time farmer, and as a homeschool family, the Darpinians love building their days around both work and community. Beginning in April, they plan to expand hours, while keeping the Austin’s experience familiar for longtime customers.
Connection is at the heart of Austin’s, right down to the coffee itself. The café proudly partners with @counterculturecoffee, a team they describe as more than a vendor. They share a passion for the craft, art, and science of coffee, and a commitment to showing up well for farmers, partners, and the people they serve each day.
Be sure to swing by, say hello, and treat yourself to their new gluten-free coffee cake, your favorite coffee or tea, or one of their delicious sandwiches. And don’t forget to give them a follow to stay in the loop on all the good things coming your way.
