She ran track in her younger years, specializing in the 400-meter sprint, and later met her husband while working at the same restaurant together.

Julie, originally from Northern California, moved to the area about seventeen years ago. Academically driven and passionate about writing, she studied International Relations. She studied abroad as a Rotary exchange student in Milan. That experience gave her a global perspective and a deep appreciation for shared humanity.
