A Legacy of Equestrian Excellence
Ann Miller's connection to the horse racing world is profound and personal. Growing up in an equestrian family was a way of life, nurturing Ann’s love for horses from an early age. Her great-grandfather, who originally established a farm known simply as Justa Farm in Montgomery County, laid the foundation for a legacy that has persisted through three generations. Ann proudly maintains the family’s original racing silks, a symbol of continuity and passion.
Ann’s father and great-grandfather were both accomplished horse trainers, instilling in her a deep respect and understanding of the sport. Interestingly, while Ann's grandfather did not pursue racing, he contributed to the family’s equestrian heritage through his service in the cavalry during World War II, even participating in the historic rescue of the Lipizzan stallions in Austria. On her father's side, her grandfather served as a field master for a fox hunt in Bucks County, further embedding a love for equine activities within the family.
The Spirit of Justa Farm
The name "Justa Farm" itself speaks to the simple beginnings of Ann’s family farm. When asked about his land, Ann’s great-grandfather would often modestly reply that it was "just a farm." Over time, this expression evolved into the official name, capturing the essence of humility and dedication that defines Ann’s approach to horse racing today. Ann’s journey in horse racing began around the age of seven, galloping alongside her father. This early exposure fostered a passion she now shares with others through racehorse partnerships. For Ann, horse racing is not merely a sport but a personal experience like “cheering for a dear friend in a competition”. She aims to offer this same connection to others, allowing them to immerse themselves in the culture of racing horses.
An Engaging and Compassionate Approach
Understanding the complexities of horse racing, Ann is committed to transparency and interaction. She and her trainer, Carl Doran, are readily available to schedule appointments for partners to visit, watch their horses train, or even offer treats—a testament to the unique and personal experience Justa Farm provides. Ann’s dedication to the well-being of her horses is unwavering; she is deeply invested in ensuring they are cared for beyond their racing years, with some continuing to fox-hunt well into their twenties.
Through Justa Farm Racehorse Partnerships, Ann aims to cultivate a community of racehorse owners who share her vision of responsible and compassionate equestrian stewardship. As a licensed trainer, she takes pride in educating her clients and offering insights into the intricacies of racing and training during special events.
