Emerson Liber's Family Vacation to Europe
I’ve lived in this neighborhood for eight years, and after traveling to London and Paris, I’ve come to appreciate the trees, open spaces, and peacefulness here even more. Staying in tiny rooms overseas made me grateful for the calm while still being in Cherry Hills.
I traveled with my family—three days in Paris and four and a half in London. My parents wanted a change from our usual beach trips, opting for history, sightseeing, shopping, and great food. Riding the Tube was a highlight—it’s how everyone gets around, and it was a fun, new experience.
Paris was unforgettable. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre amazed me, and the catacombs were the coolest but creepiest museum I’ve ever seen. We even took a macaron-making class, which was a great family bonding experience. In London, a Fulham vs. Arsenal soccer game was incredible, Camden Market felt massive, and the Tower of London was fascinating.
One hidden gem was a local pub on our last day for Sunday roast. It wasn’t touristy, and the walk there through a small park made it unforgettable.
The food was amazing—croissants in Paris, bangers and mash, and Indian cuisine in London. My favorite memory is riding the Tube—it was new, immersive, and unforgettable. This trip has broadened my travel dreams, and my advice: take the Tube everywhere, keep an open mind, and try everything!
