Greetings!

In this issue we’re taking a moment to reflect on the sunshine-filled days, celebrations, and stories that make PNW summers so incredible! We look back at the spirited Yarrow & Hunts Point 4th of July Celebration, a highlight of the summer that brought 2000 neighbors together in the most joyful way. We also meet the hardworking teenage lifeguards who’ve been keeping our kids safe at local pools and beaches, the unsung heroes of the season.

Our cover feature honors a Bellevue icon: Olson’s Tack Shop, proudly serving the community for 80 years and standing as the city’s oldest business. On the other end of the spectrum, we bid a fond farewell to Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers. While we celebrate Steven and Fredda’s well-earned retirement, their presence will be deeply missed on the local retail landscape.

We’re also thrilled to feature Cindy Gayte of Thai Kitchen Bird Pepper, a Medina neighbor and proud steward of a multigenerational Bellevue gem. If you haven’t tried their food, go! It’s seriously delicious. And don’t miss our spotlight on Lochwood-Lozier, whose craftsmanship is truly second to none. I recently discovered that a friend’s stunning home was built by Todd Lozier back in 2022, what a small world Bellevue is sometimes!

This issue is filled with reminders of what makes our community so special. Thank you for continuing to share your stories with us. We love hearing from you—so keep the ideas coming!
