Aloha, Summer! Neighbors Set Sail and Make a Difference
In late summer a group of neighbors escaped the ordinary and sailed into the extraordinary for a Luau Cruise aboard the TREK Ferry, where the spirit of “Aloha” met the sparkle of Seattle summer. Guests boarded the private charter on South Lake Union, where they enjoyed tropical vibes, Hawaiian-inspired cuisine by The Collective, complete with Mai Tais, music, dancing, and a vibrant sunset on Lake Washington. Behind the aloha spirit was something meaningful: a community coming together to create an unforgettable experience and make a difference for Bellevue children and families.
The evening was one of several unique experiences where tickets were auctioned off at One Heart/One Community: A Party with a Purpose, the February gala hosted by local nonprofit Bellevue LifeSpring’s One Circle Membership Group. Thanks to these generous contributions,100% of the ticket sales were donated to Bellevue LifeSpring, turning an evening of summer fun into meaningful support for local children and students.
One Circle Members helped bring the evening to life by using the power of community collaboration. The Collective, a Seattle coworking restaurant and event center, donated the fantastic food and cutlery for the event. When asked at the last minute to step in, their team did not hesitate. “The Collective was very kind in making sure we had everything we needed to serve guests, and the food was absolutely delicious,” shared One Circle Member and EMC Companies Founder, Zoe Rohaly. Angela Mikkelson, the General Manager of The Collective, shared, “We are truly grateful to support such a valuable cause with Bellevue LifeSpring and the important work it does for the community.”
TREK Ferry donated and provided the exceptional cruise experience. The team at TREK Ferry shared that they had a blast bringing the event to life. “Our favorite part was getting out on the dance floor and celebrating alongside everyone. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to support such an incredible organization and the important work they do in our community. We’re already looking forward to what we can dream up together for next year!”
For One Circle Member Zoe Rohaly, the experience reflects why she continues to participate in the One Circle Membership Group. “My husband and I have been a part of Bellevue LifeSpring for five years. The impact Bellevue LifeSpring has is very unique and personal. It’s meaningful to me to know that our efforts directly help families going through a difficult time gain independence and build stability.”
Thanks to the generosity of TREK Ferry, The Collective, EMC Companies, One Circle member Trish Carpenter and her husband, Collin, and the many community members who helped bring the evening to life, the Luau Cruise was more than a night on the water. It was a reminder that even a little summer fun can create a lasting impact.
