100 Years Strong: Honoring the Legacy of West U Elementary

Join in on the celebration at the Centennial Gala April 18th

This year our neighborhood elementary school is celebrating its 100th anniversary!

This remarkable milestone honors a century of learning, growth, and community. As we recognize the achievements that have shaped generations of students and teachers, we invite our community to be a part of this tradition of excellence that defines West U Elementary. We opened the school year with a neighborhood parade down University Boulevard complete with police on horses, the West U and Southside Place Fire Departments, and vintage cars representing the decades. We also celebrated our alumni with a homecoming tailgate at Rice Stadium with a fan tunnel and a halftime performance from our very own WUES Spirit Squad!

These events present our neighborhood with an opportunity to celebrate the legacy we have built, connect with our community, and support the future of our school.

Whether you are a current WUES family, alumni, or neighbor who appreciates the value our exceptional school brings to our community, we’d love for you to join us for our capstone Centennial event — our community-wide gala at McGovern Centennial Gardens on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Please find complete Centennial Celebration Gala details by going to https://www.westupto.org/centennial-gala

We also welcome your support in helping us continue our tradition of achievement for future generations. By attending events or making a financial gift, your involvement will have a meaningful and lasting impact.

Please join us in celebrating and supporting this truly special school that has meant so much to so many.
