Meet the Day Family
The Day family moved to the neighborhood in November 2018, completing renovations and moving in by July 2019. They love the community, neighborhood history, walkability, beautiful oak trees, and the safe environment for raising their children. Tyler works as a medical device sales consultant, and Claire is a realtor at a small, woman-owned brokerage.
They have two dogs, Sonny, a Black Lab, and Elvis, an English Field Cocker Spaniel. Family traditions include making a school bus cake for back-to-school, hosting cookie decorating parties before Christmas, and celebrating birthdays. The family enjoys outdoor activities, bike rides, fishing, hunting, skiing, and playing Mahjong together.
The Days are active in the neighborhood civic club, helping host neighborhood events like block parties, progressive dinners, and the Winter Wonderland Carnival. Claire is also a major corporate sponsor for WUES and the broader community.
Their favorite activities include watching their children’s sports, playing tennis, and participating in skiing. They enjoy dining at local restaurants such as Tinys No. 5, Mercato, and Los Tios, but their favorite meals are home-cooked, especially Tyler’s smoked BBQ. The family vacations in Deer Valley, Utah for skiing in winter and outdoor activities in summer. They support Texas Tech and Houston teams like the Astros, Texans, and Rockets. For entertainment, they enjoy family movie nights and a variety of music introduced by Tyler, including country and classic rock.
