Brad Dubay

A Modern Musical Standout With Old Iconic Roots

Brad, at Welcome to 1979 Studios in Nashville.

In the world of music, most artists shape their style to fit the industry. However, there are a select few who shape the industry to fit who they are. For Brad Dubay, blues rock is not just a calling; it is his very lifeblood and soul. With his roots in Windham, New Hampshire, Brad has grown into a master craftsman, creating art that connects with a universal audience. You don’t have to understand the words of blues to respect the message; its complexity allows anyone to feel the rhythm, as Brad’s music bypasses the ears, straight into the soul.

At an early age, Brad became captivated by the tranquility of New Hampshire’s landscape, the perfect environment to foster his creative mind. The natural abundance of his hometown, combined with the peaceful sense of community, inspired Brad’s songwriting to reach its true potential. He first felt himself reflected as a musician when he watched a tape of the Ed Sullivan Show; The Beatles, performing their unique sound, which Brad had not yet been exposed to. This iconic core memory became his inspiration, as Brad progressed from piano before quickly moving to his natural signature instrument, the electric guitar. Through creative experimentation, emulating and mastering the greats evolved into intense work in crafting his own unique sounds, tonalities, and techniques, honoring the past and charting new original music.

As a developing artist, Brad began drawing inspiration from Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis in the 50’s Rock & Roll Era, before venturing into Lynyrd Skynyrd and traditional blues artists, such as The Allman Brothers Band, John Mayall, and the original Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green.

However, unlike many modern musicians, Brad had a vision to revitalize the field by providing listeners with a true, authentic experience of new music produced the old-fashioned way. Unlike most vinyl today, which is not produced directly from tape but rather uses digital means, Brad’s music is physically recorded and pressed to vinyl albums in a fully uninterrupted analog process. This included in-studio live playing and singing with no electronic manipulation, recorded entirely to two-inch 24-track tape, mixed directly to 1/2-inch tape, mechanically cut to master lacquers, and then onto the metal master plates. From there, the pressings were formed with translucent pink and purple vinyl, and the master tapes were replicated to CD and digital files. This allowed for direct delivery and upload to streaming platforms and music industry professionals worldwide.

His all-original music fuses rustic homage to the 60s and 70s with innovative rhythms, void of all digital editing, software, or tools. His talent exceeds the bar set by many modern headline musicians, not needing pitch correction software to produce excellence and “that feel”. That is why artists and bands of the past could perform live and without filters, forging that connection with the audience, while sounding just as good (or better than) their album. This interaction and making magic; The ebb and flow of playing live together—that’s innately human.

“At the age of twenty-four, a mere baby by blues standards, Brad is another of the new breed of blues musicians destined to keep the music alive.” - Peter “Blewzzman” Lauro, Blues Editor, Mary4Music.com.

Against the standards of traditional industry formulas, which can often confine artists to fit certain molds, Brad has remained unwaveringly committed to his passion. From the moment he first crossed paths with music, it has become ingrained as not just an occupation, but his identity. Now twenty-five, Brad’s art is a reflection of his innate character, raw emotion, and personal style, guided by instinct. His ambition, combined with his self-respect, has set the foundation for his continued success today.

“Brad Dubay is breathing new life into the bones of blues-rock… proved his commitment to authenticity down to the last crackle of vinyl… he stitched the past into the present with pastiche.” - Amelia Vandergast, Chief Editor, A&R Factory, London, UK

In 2025, Brad recorded in Boston in April/May, mixed and mastered in Nashville in August, released to worldwide platforms in late October, with CDs and first-pressing vinyl production completed in December. Brad’s debut album, Planet 9, has opened the door to his music for thousands. Charting as high as #4 on the international Roots Music Report blues-rock album charts, with multiple singles reaching the Top 10, his hit single "The Traveler" reached #1. All of these achievements were accomplished in only a few short months.

Rooted in the present, Brad remains focused on his current goals, allowing the music to lead the way forward, letting each note reveal the story only he can tell, to everyone, everywhere. Brad’s most recent show at Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, New Hampshire, was nothing short of a spectacle… A lively celebration of resounding notes, rejuvenating the spirit of blues for every person in the room.

As one of the most expressive art forms, Brad encourages any youth with a passion for music to electrify the industry and carve their own path, whether behind the stage or behind the mic.

“Stay true to your vision, don’t compromise for anyone or anything. You know what your dreams and vision are for your music. They are gifts. Never let anyone tell you how you know your music is supposed to sound, how you are supposed to look, or how you should do things. Be authentic, that is the only way you can make music that is truly worthwhile.” - Brad Dubay

Above all, Brad would like to express his deepest gratitude to those who have continuously lifted him throughout his journey thus far, for their unconditional support and encouragement.

“I couldn’t do this without my family and all my amazing friends. Their support has meant everything to me and always will”, says Brad. “I’m also beyond grateful for the incredibly talented musicians I get to share the stage with—an exceptional band made up of people of the highest caliber, both musically and personally. I’m truly blessed to have every one of you in my life.”
